PostHeaderIcon Will a Playstation 3 from Japan, play PS1 & PS2 games from USA?

I know that the PS3 games & console will be "region-free". So any PS3 game will play on any PS3 console.

But — I have heard that PS3 will still be limited to regions for older PS1 & PS2 games. (I assume because those games where made "region-specific") Meaning that a PS3 from Japan would play PS3 games from USA(or anywhere), but only PS1 & PS2 games from Japan.

Does anyone know if this is right ?

P.S. I also already know for a fact that the PS3 is NOT region-free for DVD’s or BlueRay movies.

PostHeaderIcon Copying PS1 Games - It Is Possible

Here are still many people out here owning a PS1. PS1 games are already ancient and this is why many users question themselves: Is it possible to copy PS1 games? It is possible to copy PS1 games with very few modifications to your system. In order to do so you will only need a computer with a CD burner. Only few PS1 users are awar eof the fact that ancient PS1 games can be read directly by most computers. As soon as you have done this, all you need to do is take the records off of the CD and re-copy the records back onto a blank CD.

First of all mount the CD with a software such as Daemon. This is to extract the in rank off the CD. The use a program like Nero to bunr the ISO back on. At this point the CD will not play on your PS1 yet. In order to make the system be able to read the disks you are going to need to place a mod chip on it. Mod chips can in general be foudn easily thse days and are not expensive at all.

Once the chip is on you can read off of any burned CD and will have defeated the security system on the PS1. Be careful, because playing games you downloaded illegally can upshot in legal penalties. If you use the mod chips and burned CDs to play games you won, you won’t run into any problems.

It is only in the case of games that you do not have the license for that you will run into problems. I used this to breath life back into the collection of severely scratched and hurt disks that I have. By modding the PS1 and getting copies of the games I can now play all the ancient games that had become unplayable because of the scratches and destruction .

You can also copy PS1 games with some mouse clicks by using a game copy software. For a assess of the best game copy software visit my lense at: How To Copy Games
