PostHeaderIcon All Formats Gaming Chart See’s Wolfenstein Claim 2nd Place

Nintendo will be pleased with this piece of record game news coming below. Yet another week of gaming charts have been released by GfK Chart Track and they have seen Wii Sports Resort claim the top spot, once again, only just beating the recently released Activision title, Wolfenstein.

Wii Sports Resort was previously knocked off the top spot by Ashed Cricket 2009 for the past 2 weeks, but , the well loved Wii title has been able to climb back to the top. Reclaiming this sport now earnings the title has been at the top for 15 weeks since it’s release earlier this year.

Unfortunately, the recently released Wolfenstein game didn’t manage to get overall top spot. Although the game managed to get number 1 in the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC charts, it was just 2000 sales off the number 1 spot for all formats.

Despite Activision not being able to claim the top spot, they should still be pleased that they have 3 of their games all in the top 10 best sellers.

But , with the upcoming release of Batman: Arkham Asylum this week, both Activision and Nintendo might be knocked off the top spots. Batman: Arkham Asylum has already proven very well loved within the pre-order charts, also, with the demo being released less than a month ago, sites that do record game reviews have been going pretty mad. I definately won’t be shocked to see the new Batman game claim number 1 sport in the charts.

PostHeaderIcon Bungie Finished with Halo After Reach

Some sad record game news now for gamers, Bungie, game developers of the massively well loved Halo series, have announced that once they end with the production of Halo: Reach, they will no longer be making any more Halo games.

This news was released during an interview with record game reviews site, IGN, with Lars Bakken. Drakken said this to IGN: “After Reach that’s it for us. We’re already working on a new IP that we can’t talk about yet.”

Absolutely nothing is agreed away about the new title that is currently in the works. But , Bungie haven’t always developed FPS, oh no, previous to that they developed third person games, as well as some RTS games. So, really we have no thought of what sort of game this new title could be.

What we do know is that many people will miss Bungies contribution to the Halo franchise. With the release of Halo: Combat Evolved, back in 2001, the Halo franchise, as well as Bungie, went from strength to strength. With enhancement early soon after the release of Halo 1, the second and third Halo games came soon after the first, bring in huge numbers of sales. Bungie currently have 2 last games in enhancement , Halo 3: ODST and the final game Halo: Reach. Halo 3: ODST is currently scheduled for a September 2009 release, while Halo: Reach is targeted for a Autumn 2010 release. Obviously the release date for Reach is still very unconfirmed.

Don’t be too worried though Halo fans, any future games that may be developed are being handed over to the recently announced Microsoft 343 industries. Whether any games developed by them will manage the same top notch game reviews is unknown, it’s just a case of waiting and watching for now.

Lets just hope that they don’t send the franchie into any weird new direction that might ruin the game. Hopefully that won’t happen as it would be a real shame because both the game and the rep of the game would be ruined.
