That’s one of the things that makes the argument even more futile - NOW, a lot of the time the Blu-ray edition is any the exact same price or cheaper than the equivalent DVD edition!
I found smallville season 8(I reckon ) on blu-ray at huge lots for 8 bucks. Also, I’ve noticed that Two disk edition dvds, when they first come out, cost a few dollars more than the blu ray copy.
Obviously you’re not an afficionado or aerial of film. I talked about what things used to cost to place some perspective on how CHEAP things are NOW. Back in the day, a deluxe Lasedisc set of a show could cost as much as 200 dollars. Now, the same show on Blu-ray (in HD - exponentially higher quality than LD) can be had for a fraction of the cost. DVDs & Blu-ray are the cheapest movies have EVER been available in ANY format. Sorry you’re too wrapped up in your irrational despise to see that.
No, I said nothing of the sort. I said that deluxe LASERDISC sets could cost up to 200 dollars back in the day (ie: the ahead of schedule 90’s). The ones I have, I got for a fraction of that price because I look for DEALS. The same goes for Blu-ray. I have yet to pay more than 20 dollars for a regular show on Blu-ray, maybe 30 for a Deluxe Edition. But that’s the EXACT SAME PRICE for most new release DVDs. The “it’s too expensive” argument holds less water every day. Just shop around.

@MATALLIGAZ I am sitting here looking at 215 different Blu-ray titles for under $10 on Amazon right now. With a tiny, INKLING of searching you could figure out that here are extremely affordable Blu-ray titles.
I don’t have much money and struggle to pay for things, I’m raising a family. I just budget for the things I want after taking care of the things I need. If you can afford DVD, you can afford Blu-ray. Here ’s not a huge difference.

Ill-treat the monaural surrounds on Total Recall are fucked up! They sound like its been passed though an active crossover with crossover -12db slope placed at 500Hz it sounds fucking dreadful! Now then! I doubt that 98% of home theatre cinema uses would even see this! Now then!

you’re kidding on some of these, right? 2001: A Interval Odyssey looks absolutely spectacular on my Panasonic V10 50 inch. Jaw-dropping really . I won’t buy Total Recall, at least the US version(region free UK version is by all accounts much surpass ) as that title does have serious issues. Star Trek the Motion Picture is also jaw-dropping.

Lucky I have the region 2 DVD right Dolby six-track mix! Yes right ! Dolby Right Bluray more like DolbyFake!
I dont like fucking nit-picking. But I had trained fucking hearing previous to I was projectionist and thats that. Ill cut to the latest Bluray FUCK-UP! 2010 has had a fucking sly re-mix! They have folded centre phantom from adjoin left and right onto the discrete centre adjoin ! also fucking faked a split-stereo surround! The film was 70mm Dolby format 42! Hence 42 is monaural surrounds and format 43 is split-surrounds!
Second here is tiny effects sound when Sulu presses a button on screen left when captain Kirk instructions Sulu to drop the Enterprise 500 meters above the intruder. Also what is it with the echo when Sooty is heard on the intercom right pan adjoin that echoes on the surrounds. That wasnt on the original Dolby stereo mix.
Okay what terrible about them! Well one I have fucking golden ear when it comes to sound even the tiniest smallest fucking sound that not even Mr.6million home theatre can fucking hear!
Star Trek the motion picture. First grain where is the grain! Its like the made it look like some fucking glossy fucking porn magazine! Yes it looks fresh but. No grain is what is on film and it looks like fucking digital film NOT!
